Seven principles should be followed in the selection of oil-free bearing lubricating oil
1. Environmental conditions. When the bearing is in humid, corrosive gas, low temperature, dust and strong radiation conditions, the lubricating oil is easy to be polluted and deteriorated, so the lubricating oil with water resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, cold resistance and radiation resistance should be selected. In places where splash, emulsion spray, moist air or dust are serious, lubricating oil shall not be selected, but grease shall be selected.
2. Bearing accuracy. The moving friction surface of bearing is rough, which is generally suitable for lubricating oil with high viscosity. In order to bear the local pressure caused by poor contact and high precision friction surface, lubricating oil with low viscosity should be selected to reduce friction
Small unnecessary energy loss and temperature rise.
3. Working temperature. The working temperature affects the viscosity and lubrication effect of lubricating oil. Therefore, when the working temperature is low, the lubricating oil with low viscosity should be selected; when the working temperature is very high, high viscosity or appropriate additives should be selected. When higher than, the use of solid lubricants can generally be considered.
When the ambient temperature is different, the viscosity of the selected lubricating oil should also change accordingly. If the lubricating bearing is the same, in North China or winter, the lubricating oil with lower viscosity than that in the South or in summer should be selected. When the operating temperature changes frequently, it is also necessary to select a good viscosity. In other words, the viscosity of lubricating oil will not change with the increase or decrease of operating temperature, so as to ensure that the thickness of oil film is stable within a certain range.
4. Speed movement. The higher the speed is, the lower the viscosity of lubricating oil should be selected to avoid increasing the movement resistance and generating heat
Too much; on the contrary, at low speed, lubricating oil with higher viscosity should be used to improve the bearing capacity.
5. The essence of sports. There are shock, vibration, constant load change, speed change and starting. Stop, frequent reversal, and do reciprocating or intermittent movement, are not conducive to the formation of oil film, should choose a higher viscosity lubricating oil. Greases, even solid lubricants, are sometimes preferred to ensure reliable lubrication.
6. Workload. The greater the load on the rolling bearing, the higher the viscosity of lubricating oil, and better lubricating oil and extreme pressure should be provided, so as to avoid squeezing the lubricating oil from the friction pair or directly contacting the metal.
Structural features. The smaller the radial clearance of rolling bearing is, the higher the machining accuracy of friction surface is, and the lower the viscosity of lubricating oil is.
7. Bearing hardness. If the hardness of bearing moving friction surface is low, high viscosity lubricating oil should be selected, and the oil quantity should be sufficient; otherwise, the viscosity of lubricating oil can be reduced.
