The

self-tightening spiral spring. According to the different parts of the seal body is divided into the bottom, waist, edge and seal lip and so on. Usually,
in the free state of the skeleton oil seal, its inner diameter is
smaller than the shaft diameter, ie it has a certain "interference." Therefore,
when the oil is encapsulated into the oil seal seat and the shaft, the
pressure of the oil seal edge and the shortening force of the
self-tightening spiral spring exert a certain radial tight force on the
shaft. After a period of operation, the pressure will be rapidly reduced
and even reduced. Disappearing, therefore, plus the spring can compensate the self-tightening of the oil seal at any time.
Because
there is an oil film manipulated by the oil seal edge between the oil
seal and the shaft, the oil film has fluid smooth characteristics. Under
the effect of the surface tension of the liquid, the rigidity of the
oil film just forms a crescent surface between the oil film and the
touch end of air, avoids leakage of the working medium, and then
completes the sealing of the rotating shaft. The
seal ability of the oil seal depends on the thickness of the oil film
on the sealing surface. If the thickness is too large, the oil seal
leaks. If the thickness is too small, dry collision may occur, resulting
in oil seal and shaft wear. If there is no oil film between the seal
lip and shaft, heat and wear may occur easily.
